What I love about photography in the summer is the warming atmosphere of ease and relaxation that leaks through from the images. Even something as bustling as a summer fair, with its cheering rides, bright tents, and laughing crowds, has a tint of lightness. As the day turns into the late dusk, fair lights shine on against a background of humid blues and purples.
Going to the fair with my friends has been a constant landmark in August of every summer vacation. This time would be the last full summer we would have together as our senior year of high school approached and college loomed over. So for our last summer daze at the fair, I wanted to remember the joyful shouts from the illuminated swing ride, the lazy romantic turns of the classic Ferris Wheel, and my best friend against the backdrop of cotton candy skies.
