Coming from an evangelical community in Birmingham, Alabama, my formative years were marked by strict discipline and an unwavering commitment to religious doctrine. Despite the narrow academic focus of my upbringing, my innate curiosity and hunger for knowledge drove me to continually explore and interrogate the curated worldview that surrounded me. Today, my artistic practice is deeply concerned with fundamental questions of faith, sexuality, and identity, drawing upon a range of theoretical frameworks including queerness and "low theory."
At the heart of my artistic mission is a drive to provoke curiosity and prompt viewers to reconsider long-held assumptions, fostering a sense of wonder and openness to the possibilities of new perspectives.
