This project focuses on the street life of Israel. The goals of this work are to convey the liveliness and energy felt from the country while portraying Israel’s complexities. Israel is not a land that can be simplified. To understand the country one must consider its many cultures, conflicts, and history. In other words there is no one point of view that holds true for Israel. The truth of Israel is individualistic and dependent on the observer. I chose long exposures to facilitate the constant motion of the people. The clarity of the people on the blurred scenes of these photographs help to create the individual point of view, and the impressionistic backgrounds represent Israel’s complexities. It is my hope that the energy, liveliness, and complexity are captured in these photographs.
