the winter doldrums are on the outs, and with it I’ve captured a new found love for the city. When I was just a visitor in New York, I used to ride the subway with eyes wide, looking at everyone, everything, and feeling like it was all a new experience.
.
Now that I’ve been here for some years, riding the train can feel mundane. The busy city blocks felt desolate this chilly winter. The last run of Nor’easters are what I credit with waking me up. I walked around with camera in hand through the sleet and snow, clicking and seeing. Capturing and experiencing. I’m excited for the season change, but I know I’ll miss the intermittent foul weather. It sparked something from within to view my surroundings a bit differently.
