After I got my MFA degrees from China and Japan, I taught Visual Art at ChengDu University until I moved to Canada in 2013, where I have focused on raising my children. The experience of raising children with cross-cultural communication is also an extension of the central theme of my paintings. My art explores the identity of my family as we explore the world. I create acrylic/ oil paintings combining figuration and landscapes reflecting my children's Chinese and First Nations heritage. I want to develop my concepts, and become an active, professional artist in my community of Saskatchewan and greater Canada.
