I take pictures of my travels in the Deep South of the USA. As a native Southerner, my aim is to depict the mundane as I see it, rather than attempting to confirm or deny stereotypes, which I feel is often the case with work that focuses on this region. I shoot film for the slow nature, and mainly black and white because I like the timeless and serious feel it brings. Grainy, high contrast photos acknowledge the natural qualities of analog so I embrace them.
