I am a Dublin-based contemporary artist focusing on expressive figurative paintings in oils. With a background in social work and socio-environmental activism, my interest lies specifically in the human condition and individual experience. I enjoy oscillating between humour and vulnerability to capture moments that further human connection and challenge status quos. Right now I am building a body of work dedicated to women’s bodies and the female experience. Responding to the diet industry & patriarchy, and its effects on women, this collection of paintings will celebrate women of all ages and sizes who dare to defy today’s oppressive, harmful and reductive norms and embrace their so-called “imperfections”. Whilst my approach is brave, bold and colourful, my process is thoughtful, inclusive and sensitively executed.
