This portfolio documents a fraction of the people I encountered over seven days in Tokyo right before Covid-19 struck. The city was busy preparing from what they thought would be an on-schedule Olympic games, and everyone was unusually welcoming of visitors. I spent my time navigating seven different districts including Omote-Sando, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Gaienmae, Iidabashi, Nakano and Kagurazaka.
My goal was an end portfolio that would document Tokyo's constant amalgamation of modernity with tradition, while simultaneously depicting detailed portraits of its citizens and spaces.
