Kathryn Bishop is an American artist based out of Long Beach, California. The most pure inspiration for her abstract, minimalist figures is movement. The focus on line weight and precision is greatly influenced by her architectural background.
In this series, limited facial expressions force an exaggeration of gesture and body language to portray emotion. The severed connections of the head, torso and lower body represent the separation of mind, heart and sexuality. This separation is a means of self preservation.
