My work is about people and the sensation of being a person.
I use colors, objects, and typography to reference moments and express sentiments that feel like they need to get out. A lot of what I make focuses on creating commentary on the methodology of capitalism and consumerism, and talks to and about contemporary culture using components of its own language. I borrow elements from editorial and advertising aesthetics and try to reassign these elements a new, more meaningful life in paintings- minimalist compositions, bold and primary palettes, and sometimes a bit of tongue in cheek.
Sculptural work and large scale work are both really important to my practice. I love expanding these themes onto a larger, more dimensional, and more public scale- I think art should be the biggest thing in any setting.
