Born out of isolated moments of systematic rhythms, my oil paintings accommodate chance, gestural marks, and erasures to make visible a world without objective imagery. Scaling across the canvas are lean marks of enamel that take pleasure in line. Pastel sticks, house paint, and oils brush the surface to create a lyrical and atmospheric clash of mediums. My work confronts attractions amidst these varying materials while simultaneously exploring the relationship between drawing and painting. Washed, slashed, and scrapped away, these paintings find solace in ambiguity that is generated through repetition.
