I am interested in creating landmark artworks that activate spaces, whether with painted murals, neon lighting, textiles, mosaic art or any combination therein.
Much of my artistic career has evolved naturally out of travel, collaborations with foreign artists and diverse communities, a social practice involving educational initiatives, and propelled by my own undying curiosity about the possibilities inherent in repurposed materials when paired with innovative processes and ancient techniques.
Using my platform as a public artist I try to elevate issues such as environmental and social justice and cultural equity, immortalizing in new monumental works the relentless and inspiring figures and narratives that still need to be heard and remembered for our diverse and ever-changing world.
