My inspiration comes from textile, patterns and dance rituals from both of my home countries, Panama and Peru. My illustrations focus on creating whimsical devil-ish like creatures that live in my subconscious mind. My dreams, just like my drawings, are filled with color and layers of fictional characters and adventures. Each dream is unique and elaborate, never a dull moment. Every morning, I write down key phrases and words to helps me remind of the environment experienced and creatures encountered. My work is more reassuring that a therapy session, because I’m able to put a phase at nightmares and scary situations. I choose to portray these devil-ish creatures in a happy and joyful aesthetic, with the hope that my subconscious realm eventually mimics them.
