Born and raised in Turkey, our expectations for a seaside escape were quite different from what greeted us in Margate. This series captures the unanticipated charm and rugged beauty of this coastal town through the lens of my old analog camera. Weathered boats rest abandoned on the shore, children play on seaweed-covered islands that rise from the tide, the air is thick with the unmistakable scent of fish and chips.
This is Margate—raw, nostalgic, and beautifully unexpected, seen through eyes that came seeking one kind of coast and discovered another entirely.
