I am Carolina Molina, a.k.a CAROSCAPES, a visual artist, illustrator and journalist born in Ecuador. I´ve been working on maximalist pattern designs and utterly bright colored illustrations since the beginning of my career.
I come from a very traditional latino family, and have spent most of my life in a small inner city called Loja, which has shaped the way I see and understand people, landscapes and color.
Therefore, my body of work consists mostly of drawings, illustrations and digital patterns conceptually gathered into series that focuses on andean landscapes, eccentric vegetation, impossible architectural compositions and realistic portraits of happy people. I am deeply influenced by psychedelic graphic art, vernacular architecture, vaporwave and surrealism with a postmodern undertone.
