In Postcards, I document my recent trip to Latin America. Spanning across 4 different cities (Bogotà, Cartagena, Medellín, Panama City), this 35mm series conveys the awe and inspiration I feel when discovering a new place. Finding newness was something that I valued greatly as a teenager, but in recent years, I’ve also come to value familiarity. I haven’t been able to return home to the Philippines in nearly 3 years, so I've had to find pieces of home in other places. That is why in these photographs, the sentiment of adventure also comes with a sense of comfort and nostalgia - like, have I been here before?
As I think about how my home base has drastically shifted over the last few years, I hope this series sends a message to all my friends and loved ones who are now scattered around the world: Wish You Were Here!
