Making postcard collages is my way of turning glimpses into portals. When I follow my intuition with matching fragments to a postcard’s image, it multiplies the flat surface into a new horizon of meaning. It’s my flow zone as well as a helpful channel to decrypt what’s brimming under the surface through repeated symbols. Though there’s hundreds of clippings in my studio to source from, I keep returning to clocks, torn lotto scratch-offs, wings, petals, and bread ties. Sometimes I mail the portals to friends or family, other times I place them together on the walls to trace out what the patterns reveal.
