Whilst visiting Athens over New Year, my friend and I went to the site of the Parthenon a couple of times. Though obviously a relic and an architectural feat, my Parthenon experience was overshadowed by the dizzying amount of Portacabins I saw on site.
They were everywhere, and often in front of or beside the marble columns.
I found myself far more drawn towards these than the ancient artifact hovering in the background and started photographing these, a lot.
I guess what struck me was the juxtaposition between these two very contrasting architectural structures. One of temporary purpose and one that's been around for hundreds of years.
When I returned to the U.K I decided to produce a small linocut series in order to depict the juxtaposition. My print process is very traditional, layer-heavy and registration-orientated.
