Pool Noodle

I captured the “Pool Noodle” series while on vacation in Palm Springs, CA. I was sitting by the pool, contemplating the slight movement of the noodles on the still water when I suddenly felt like watching an animated illustration. I started seeing the pool as a blank canvas and, for a couple of hours, I kept on randomly throwing the noodles on the water. It was very inspiring to let fate create compelling compositions and capture them.

As a photographer, I like playing with the fine line between abstraction and reality. To me, that’s where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and that’s how I hope to make people dream in their own daily lives. To see how these mundane objects become graphic elements makes me smile, and I hope you do too.
