Perfect Tables is a series of still lifes that I began making when I wished that the objects around me in mass-produced America had a bit more soul. I like to believe that each of my tables is a growing living thing with an inner life and the joy that you feel when you see them is not dissimilar to the joy when encountering a friendly pet. The title of the series is a reflection of the idea that what we traditionally expect is not what something could or should be and that anyone of us has very little right to the sole use of a definition, adjective, or constriction. My little family of wonky tables and chairs will continue to grow.
