My work tells a personal narrative that I have deeply suppressed. It is an ongoing project. Each piece explores the intersection between my internal energy and the external influences that have percolated throughout my life. An abusive relationship, addiction, divorce, single parenthood, and an eating disorder are among the stresses that I explore. Currently working in mixed media and drawing, my pieces tend to be organic in structure, somber in mood, and touched with the muted overcast tones from my hometown of Portland, Oregon.
I graduated from Portland State University receiving a BA in Art: Art History with a Studio Concentration in Printmaking in 2012. I am currently based in Huntsville, Alabama.
