My work stems from escapism and surrealism--it’s necessary for me to create my own visual world in order to grapple with this often overwhelming society. Focusing on extreme detail through color, line, shape, and texture relieves anxiety and depression that I feel while transforming them into something commonly perceived as beautiful. My work has a primary focus on women (I love sharing my interpretation of their beauty/energy while basking in sisterhood), visually striking insects (perfect examples of nature being the best artist of all), and synesthetic drawings of music. I often use extra eyes in my drawings to convey my intent observance of both the world around me and the one within me. My purpose in my art is to explore the depth of human emotion, honor the beauty of nature, and to leave viewers feeling expansive.
