This photo was taken during sunset magic hour and captured as the fog set on Coney Island Beach during a recent bike ride I took after work. The parachute jump is a decommissioned ride at Coney Island, originally built for the 1939 World's Fair, that once gave patrons a taste of free fall before gently lowering them to the ground via parachute. I liked playing with the focus point in this image. Though my lens was focused on the top of the ride, the fog obscures clear perspective. What's left is a dreamy haze of the ride that once was.
