Hugo Knox’s practice engages with social and political themes in connection to Artificial Intelligence. Al exists without much restriction, seemingly in the hands of any person with an internet connection. Its power, accuracy and speed pose many urgent yet unanswerable questions which have added to Hugo‘s interest in the topic matter.
Hugo uses multiple disciplines such as, Digital drawing, Oil Painting and Sculpture. Digital drawing is a fast and versatile medium for developing ideas. Once there is a firm understanding of composition and subject, oil paint is most often the desired medium due to its richness, feel and flexibility.
Hugo Knox also creates sculptures, adding a 3-Dimensional perspective. This transition from 2D to 3D helps emphasise certain qualities within the created works.
