At the crux of my practice, the act of making is a process of attempting to break away from a world influenced by the Eurocentric history of the 20th century. To do this, I use an otherworldly aesthetic in my paintings, which show ecosystems of flora and fauna on imagined exoplanets. This concept of otherness within our contemporary anthropocentric society is how I begin to consider acts of colonization, appropriation and environmental disaster within the present day.
