Coaxing out ideas of domesticity, labor, and ephemeral living through unconventional materials, I focus on how material and process can carry history. My recent body of work is fabricated from collected denim: jeans, jackets, and shirts that have been deconstructed and exposed to the elements--slowly becoming indigo vessels of collected sun and rain.
Swirling masses of denim become a raging storm. Climate is seemingly no longer a science, becoming a vehicle for forecasting false trajectories. Weather patterns reveal a climate of denial. Rising temperatures will lead to more intense systems. The pressure is building…....
