I think of my artworks as the material products of feelings, thoughts and firsthand experiences. They take form through the means of traditional painting, drawing or, sometimes, through the digital workspace of a computer. In some cases, special focus is given on the materiality/physical substance of an artwork; the paint itself, the textures and the use of colour. In other cases, however, the emphasis is put on the depicted scene, the story it tells and its symbolic meaning. The resulting artworks, reminiscent of dreamscapes, are strongly influenced by comic books and pop culture, while maintaining an expressionistic style. They are contemporary 'otherworldly' images which are grounded in the primal, eternal human emotions of loneliness, desperation and the everlasting craving for fulfillment.
