The rulers of the Ottoman Empire were absolutely ruthless with people who drank coffee. They would go on the streets to find and even kill coffee drinkers. This is what the first illustration is about. But coffee history did not cease from here. The Turkish emissary took coffee to Versailles in the 17th century. And it all started from here. A madness for coffee and Turkish culture was all over Paris. With the approval of the Pope, it not only became a legal drink but also inspired many philosophers and the coffee culture we love so much about Paris today.
