'Nothing Without You' is a photographic exploration detailing the bonds and relationships between life and death. In 2017 I lost my grandfather, a death that impacted me deeply. Grief is such a strange feeling and one that changes each time you experience it. Feeling lost I looked to my work to try and find answers or at least a sense of direction in life. Nothing Without You was my answer.
From 2017-2019 I sought out subjects that shared bonds with both life and death. From priests and their dedication to God, a deceased entity that gives their life meaning and purpose to those they preach to. The journey of speaking with and photographing these subjects brought new meaning and joy to my own life. A body of work born from my grandfather's passing, breathing life into my photography.
