When everyone these days has a phone in their pocket or purse, there doesn't seem to be much of a need for the public pay phone. What was once a common sight outside of every convenience store or corner gas station, is now a rarely noticed relic from the past. Think of the last time that you used a pay phone, or the last time you can remember seeing someone on a pay phone. The phone companies remove pay phones from areas where they are not making enough revenue to justify their existence, although in the case of removal, the only thing removed is the actual phone receiver and base. The stand, sides, signage and everything else that identify that there was a pay phone located there remain. Occasionally you find one that actually works....
