Organic forms fascinate me and my methods revolve mainly around the study of the territory and its associated phenomena. Through the mediums of sculpture and drawing, I imagine and devise new systems that evocate nature and poetically reinvent the landscape. These actions drive my aesthetic research in the studio.
Using the principles of pictorial abstraction, I explore, through matter and its intrinsic colour, contrasts and dialogues at the heart of objects. The materials used, often crude or unusual, coalesce to create unexpected blends. These elements of surprise are essential and guide my artistic approach.
Through these manipulations, I address the tensions between the ‘natural’ and the ‘artificial’ – between reality and fiction. The result of this intuitive work materializes in hybrid and undefinable objects.
