My current project involves translating the emotion from various types of music into visual art. Each painting is created in Photoshop while simultaneously listening to music. The music inspiring these pieces contains a wide variety of genres such as classic rock, rap, jazz, and electronic. Color and line movement are carefully considered and applied to convey the different emotions in each song as well as the album as a whole. Each painting contains more than 30 layers and colors. The lines in the paintings are extremely thin allowing for a unique blend of color and movement as the layers build up. Music has always been a source of strong emotion, and with this project I aimed to create a visual counterpart that would demonstrate that same level of emotion.
