In monochromasters I reduce famous works of art to one color using computercode. On the instagram @monochromasters I post an artwork by another artist every day, from as wide a range of artistic movements and styles and historic periods I can find.
I also create physical works from these: for an exhibition in Utrecht 10 works are printed on paper at the true size of the originals on A0 paper. This is the least faithful reproduction of a work of art possible: 1 pixel. But some of the works are remarkably resonating, and the true size keep a physical tether to the original.
I am looking for the essence of a work of art; when do you lose the connection to the original completely, or maybe with dilution like in Homeopathy the connection becomes stronger.
