'Mirage' is the title of a painting I made this year 2017, where a high-heeled shoe floats in front of the face of a Basque villager, hiding it. This title helps me to name this series of paintings from the last three years of work. 'Mirages' to define painting as an optical illusion, as a deception. A fiction that hides a reality, very authentic but very different from the one that appears at first sight.
