I am Sharon Neel-Bagley a fine art photographer and I live and work in Dallas, TX. There is a lot of waste timber in Dallas, TX. The Dallas development culture encourages widespread cutting of trees and many of the trees that grow in North Texas are prone to fall down or drop large branches. In my most recent series “Microscopic Cross Sections” I rescue selected logs from this dire and wasteful fate. Using a microscope and a camera lens, I am able to float and explore below the surface of rotten limbs and trees. In this sub-arboreal terrain, I discover and photograph sublime landscapes.
