Whether in visions, in nature, in books, or in memories, life has a way of teaching us about ourselves and our place in the world. With the escalation of tensions around the world, these lessons now live in the extremes- explosive creations oozing high frequency colors, toxic colored machines expanding as they swallow organic forms, fantastical safe spaces pulsating with loving frequencies, and divisive competition within the self. With visual roots in folklore, psychedelia, and popular cartoons, I strive to make works feel timeless and transportive. The fluidity of line and vivid coloration coalesce into fantastical scenes of love and failure, hurt and pride, and myth and truth, and lets the works slip into cracks in the time-space continuum and tell me deep truths about myself that connect me to the larger narrative of Life.
