My practice focuses on visual arts in the form of painting/drawing, large-scale mural installations, and most recently mask and puppetry. The mask images are my most recent work completed during my residency at The Vermont Studio Centre in January. This series initiated from a body of intuitive paintings done as an exercise to get me through a rough time. I would sit down with a small piece of paper and some ink and let whatever character emerge based on how I was feeling. The process became extremely cathartic. I was curious to see how some of these characters might come to life - what would it be like to wear these emotions as masks? How would my physical body merge with these forms?
