Anaïs Lera is a French visual artist and illustrator currently living and working in Vancouver. She creates meticulous intricate design inspired by the beauty of the living world.
Her recent work illustrates a visual experience of a psychedelic journey into the abyss.
Inspired by Art Nouveau's ornaments; 60's/70's waved design posters filled with vivid contrast colors; traditional contemplative Japanese painting of nature.
She draws in symbiosis these various graphical evocations into unique meditative hallucinogenic peregrinations. Exploring the visual potential of a tranced underwater world, weaved by forms, repetitions and interconnected movements. Filled with flora and fauna elements belonging either to terrestrial and ocean worlds, she lets the image slide into an imaginary ecosystem meticulously painted.
