Marie Jamil Schwab (b. 1996) is a German Artist pursuing her Diploma of Art at Bauhaus University Weimar. Currently, she lives in Barcelona and has her studio at HANGAR.
In her video works, photographs and installations she deals with elementary borderline experiences as part of performative and sculptural practice. She exposes herself to extreme situations in order to generate artistic potential from these experiences. The basic impulse is the desire for self-determination and interconnectedness as an act of artistic action. She exposes herself to the elements in order to evoke altered states of consciousness and to sense the reciprocal relationship between human and nature. These experiences give rise to works that open portals to her perception.
