Veneers of maplewood glued and pressed into a single uniform piece, this is the basis of a skateboard deck. For me this knowledge poses a question. If maplewood is what makes a skateboard, then what makes skateboarding? This project seeks to explore that idea by looking past the actual act of skateboarding and documenting the moments that make skateboarding culture.
