Lou Benesch de Gastines is a French-American graphic designer, painter and illustrator.
In her work, the human figure and other monsters are prey to sweet nightmares and the unconscious is delightfully sensual. In these dreamlike moments, desires are always contradictory, never half-hearted. As much inspired by illuminated manuscripts and Renaissance painting as by japanese Ukiyo-e, she investigates a form of aestheticism that surfaces in words, bodies, patterns, animals and objects.
