I challenged myself in some specific ways with this series of paintings, both in terms of media as well as content. I dislike working on canvas because I find it irritating, so I forced myself to work through that. This also prevented me from screen printing anything on these surfaces, which made it hard to include any digital or mechanical textures. I wanted these paintings to clearly reflect what it feels like to live now, immersed in technology while dreading environmental catastrophe. So these paintings became a frustrating, yet rewarding exercise in manipulating paints with brushes and a paint gun to echo digital versions of reality.
