This project is a kind of lettering performance that draws the Latin alphabet using physical tools, and is the result of trial work in a workshop format. I used the movements of electric drills and tape measures, which are often seen at home, as the power to draw the curves and straight lines of letters. It follows the principles of the Bauhaus’s Universal typeface, the most geometric and mechanical typeface that forms the shape of a letter with only perfect circles and straight lines. However, the imperfections and accidental situations that occur when people move and draw physical tools become prominent. Another interesting part is that it shows the speed of brushing. The resulting poster text is a passage from the manifesto of Futurism.
