As a member of the diaspora, I truly believe we seek home in the smallest of things—the "klk" from the guy at the bodega, finding a perfect sweet plantain, or hearing a car pass by blasting Dembow or Bachata. While we know there are things our country needs to change and improve, there’s no one prouder of where they come from than a Dominican in NYC.
