My work is based on memory, memory recall of natural imagery, and a direct approach to the landscape that I approach with a sense of wonder, reverence, awe and mystery. They evoke landscape and geological processes.
My works explore the process by which materials settle into place over time. They draw inspiration from observation of rocks, traces of erosion on rock, and the influence of waves that create large and small-scale change along various shorelines.
Executed in graphite, the materials have dissipated into forms that recall sediment carried in water, wave patterns, and bed forms.
