The purpose of these photographs was originally to document my travels across the United States. Gradually, as I spent more time away from home, I found myself missing out on important events that were happening while I was living out of hotel rooms. And though modern technology has made it possible to communicate…my sisters birthday, long separated friends reuniting, weddings - observing these events through text messages, photos, and phone calls only served to disconnect me from those places and people more. My reality was almost unexplainable and seemed irrelevant, not because I wasn’t able to share it, but because the experiential perspective is so fleeting. Because of this, I began to examine the transient nature of relationships and the places we call “home”.
