In my work, I attempt to express feelings and experiences through landscape, where colours act as a medium to communicate it all. The colours I use are untrue to the place. This brings universality to a landscape that is bound to a specific location. Simultaneously, this choice of colour allows feelings and experiences to take over the landscape. I’m attracted to nature and I have experienced it intensely. My use of mark making, texture and composition attempts to make the viewer experience the work as if they are in the landscape looking at everything as intensely as I do. In addition, I use a range of materials that vary depending on what I want to express. However, for my painting practice I mostly use oil and acrylic paint on canvas. In my work, I’m in a constant exploration for a language that is universal and for everyone.
