My work is an exploration of human consciousness. Painting allows me to deconstruct and visualize the mind as a way of understanding and questioning the improbability of our existence.
The human experience is complex. The truth is not black and white but shades of gray and the world is an array of contrasts. My work wrestles with the tension created from opposing elements: growth and decay, beauty and destruction, order and chaos. Working with abstraction also allows me to blend together many layers of meaning, which include biological and technological systems, along with societal critique.
At its core, my process is the result of a drive to question, explore and discover. My work aims to make visible that which is invisible. To pin down that which is impermanent, ephemeral. To understand that which is inconceivable.
