Visual Artist and Designer, Meg Gallagher has built a prominent reputation in the past decade as a creative. Having worked for some of the best names in the fashion industry and more recently returning to painting as her chosen medium, she has accumulated a following of collectors worldwide.
Meg develops her art practice of contemporary nudes in her home studio in Sydney’s South, which borders the national park. This inspiration is clearly evident in her work, with her layered colour palette reflecting the nearby bush and her mid-century modern home. While her use of denim as a canvas and the textured treatments she applies speaks to her time in the fashion industry. Since becoming a mother, painting nudes is a vehicle for her to celebrate how she sees women’s sensuality and sexual energy as their biggest strength.
