Photography for me is a conversation between my outer world and inner world. My work offers clues to our world around us, like bubble wrap, or holographic stickers. These elements are taken out of context layered with paint splatters and reflected against mirrored surfaces. In my most recent work I have begun using objects like clay, pom poms, and beads. These objects are very nostalgic for me having grown up making crafts with them. In each piece, I try to find a balance of joyfulness and something darker. They exist alongside each other in the course of an ordinary day for me. My work offers a space to confront undesirable feelings we all experience at one time or another, as well as joy which takes me out of myself in an unexpected way.
